Mainline Kernel unter Debian installieren

# Zuerst müssen wir die Kernel Sourcen runterladen:
cd /usr/src; wget https://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v3.0/linux-3.7.6.tar.bz2; bunzip2 linux-3.7.6.tar.bz2; tar xfv linux-3.7.6.tar; rm linux-3.7.6.tar; cd linux-3.7.6;
# vorhandene Kernel Config von /boot nutzen und modifizieren:
make -j9 oldconfig
# Seine Lieblingskerneleinstellungen vornehmen:
aptitude install ncurses-dev; make -j9 menuconfig
# Kernel und Module kompilieren:
make -j9; make -j9 modules_install; make -j9 install
# durch das ‘make install’ wird der Kernel nach /boot kopiert, eine passende initrd erstellt und grub angepasst, nach einem Neustart wird der Kernel gebootet.

#mdadm Raid erweitern:
# raid kann gemountet bleiben, muss aber nicht…

umount /storage/storage1

# ins Softwareraid hinzufügen:

mdadm --add /dev/md3 /dev/sdk

# Bitmap anlegen und dann das Raid vergrößern:

mdadm --grow --bitmap=internal /dev/md3
mdadm --grow --raid-devices=5 /dev/md3

# ~1100 Minuten warten, siehe cat /proc/mdstat
# Dateisystem prüfen

e2fsck -f /dev/md3

# nun das Dateisystem erweitern

resize2fs /dev/md3

# Dateisystem nochmal prüfen

e2fsck -f /dev/md3

# Bitmap wieder entfernen

 mdadm --grow --bitmap=none /dev/md3

# wieder mounten und freuen

mount /storage/storage1

Folgende Meldung erhält man während des POSTs:
Warning! 2 Drives are reported, bios memory allocation is full

Snape Dafuq

Das Bios hat zuviele HDDs zur Verfügung die das ‘bootable’ Flag gesetzt haben. Dies passiert häufig wenn man einen Raidcontroller/HAB nutzt und dieser alle angeschlossenen Festplatten mit eben diesem Flag markiert + alle onboard Sata Ports von HDDs belegt sind.

#mdadm Raid6 über 4 Festplatten erstellen:
mdadm –create /dev/md3 –level=6 –raid-devices=4 /dev/sda /dev/sdb /dev/sdc /dev/sdd
# /etc/mdadm/mdadm.conf updaten:
mdadm –assemble –scan > /etc/mdadm/mdadm.conf
# Infos des neuen Raids anzeigen:
mdadm –detail /dev/md3
# Raidaufbaustatus überprüfen:
cat /proc/mdstat
# Raidaufbau starten:
mdadm –readwrite /dev/md3
# Aufbau beschleunigen:
echo 99999999 > /proc/sys/dev/raid/speed_limit_max
echo 9999999 > /proc/sys/dev/raid/speed_limit_min
# Aufbau konstant überwachen:
watch cat /proc/mdstat
# nach ~900min ist das Raid fertig und kann verschlüsselt werden:
cryptsetup -c aes-xts-plain64 -s 512 luksFormat /dev/md3
# Container öffnen:
cryptsetup luksOpen /dev/md3 storage
# Container foramtieren und mounten:
mkdir /storage1; mkfs.ext4 -m 0 /dev/mapper/storage; mount /dev/mapper/storage /storage1
